Disaster Management Centre issued a flood alert for the low laying areas of Kelani river as the heavy rain occured in the catchment areas.
The DMC said Current adverse weather situation in upper catchment areas of Kelani River Basin may cause flooding in next 24hrs in low lying areas of Kelani River Valley.
People living in low laying areas of Kalani river requested to be alert.
