Secretary to the President Dr. P. B. Jayasundara is handed over his resignation letter to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, political sources said.
It was further confirms that Dr. Jayasundera’s letter has been accepted by the President.
The current Secretary to the Prime Minister Gamini Senarath is to be appointed as the next Secretary to the President, the sources said.
Prior to his appointment as the Prime Minister’s Secretary in 2019, Senarath served as the Additional Secretary to the President and Chief of Staff of the Presidential Secretariat in the President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s government until 2015.
